Due to growing demand, the requirement to maximize the uptime of assets, systems, and services while reducing maintenance costs, has increased. Predictive maintenance has come of age in the last five years and is now widely accepted. Although these systems have evolved over the past 25 years, they have undergone a significant transformation in the last five years.

In this 3-part series, I will provide an overview of predictive failure in data centre cooling systems.

What is predictive maintenance?

Let’s briefly discuss what predictive maintenance is. I believe this concept can be explained more effectively by comparing it to other types of maintenance

Colocation Data Centres

This blog focuses on data centres that provide a secure and reliable environment for businesses to house their IT equipment. Unlike cloud providers, these data centres don’t sell, lease, or manage servers or other IT hardware.

Instead, customers bring their servers, storage systems, and networking devices to the data centre. The data centre provides:

- A safe and secure location for the equipment
- Power and cooling systems to keep the equipment running
